Forum Thread: Bionic Commando PCB Repair
Original Capcom PCB
Problem: Character graphics all messed up, and split in half, background was fine.
Fix: Bad output on a 74ls86 pin 8 @ 9J on the bottom pcb. While this fixed the split sprites a lot of the graphics were still messed up.
Problem: Character graphics mostly messed up, main character was fine until he extended it bionic arm thing and went up, bad guy graphics were stuffed.
Fix: Using the scope I was able to trace the corrupted graphics back to the roms containing the character sprite data. Taking each rom out and reading it showed that roms 9, 19, 20 and 22's data was corrupt. Reprogramming some new roms fixed the problems 100%.
PS: TOP GAME!
