Stargate CPU board 5770-09656-00
Problem: When I first turned the pcb on there was rubbish on the screen, only about 1/3 of the screen from the center was showing, some sort of vertical collapse.
Fix: Bad 7411@3A
Problem: From what I could tell from the digital display on the rom board the game was booting without errors then resetting, as above all that was on the screen was a garbled mess.
Fix: cut a long story short the output on pin 3 on a 7432 @ 6E
Problem: Game would boot and get up to the "INITIAL TESTS INDICATE ALL SYSTEMS GO" then reset.
Fix: Shit of a fault took me awhile to track down. Bad 5514 Cmos Ram @ 1C
Other things done to PCB: Replaced CPU socket, Cleaned interconnect cable pins, would have to sit there playing with them to get it to boot.
Things to do: Needs the BS.BA inversion hack done so this pcb can run Robotron, Joust etc.
CPU board 5770-09656-00 REV B
Problem: Missing Red and Green.
Fix: Missing 2 2N4403 transistors Q1 and Q2, substituted equivalent pair of 2N3906 I found on a scrap Atari 2600.
Problem: Game boots with "HIGH SCORE TABLE RESET BOOKKEEPING TOTALS CLEARED ADJUSTMENT FAILURE ETC ETC"
Fix: Another missing transistor Q13 2N4401 substituted with equivalent 2N3904 pulled off scap Atari 2600, Tranny is connected to the CE of the CMOS.
