This one just fixed and was one of the first boards I ever worked on. This board had a few problems.

Symptom:The background of the game was blue instead of black and all the green snow bees were missing and just blocks the rest of the graphics were fine.
Fix: Bad N82S137N Colour Prom at IC88

Funny this one, In my eternal stupidness When I was fault finding I accidently put the colour prom in backwards(not the first time i've done this either!). Ordered another prom popped her in and fixed all the problems in the game! ROFL KARMA IS REAL.

Symptom: No sound
Fix:Amp was fried and was around the wrong way anyway. Replaced amp with one from a scrap Kid Niki board

There was also a bad cap at C24

Symptom: No sync
Fix: Fool who made the harness wired the sync on the JAMMA fingerboard in the wrong place and no it wasn't me!

Pengo. Original PCB. Should apply to the bootlegs.

Sound Distorted. Locks up or resets when trying to draw maze. Something starts without drawing maze.

OK, suspect something happening when it trys to play sounds as all sounds are clipped/out of tune. Have a poke around with a logic probe at anywhere where the 2 ciruits meet the data bus, and find a dead 74LS174 with no outputs.

Seems it times the 2 busses. Pulled and replaced. Game good to go.

IC 48 at fault. Replaced, game now 100%

Symptom: Sprites had no eyes or other details
Cure: 74LS367 at location IC102 (4P) needed to be re-seated in its’ socket

Symptom: Sound was distorted when board was cold, but improved as it heated up
Cure: Replaced 82S129 PROM at location IC70 (2K) – this uses MAME PROM image: PR1636.070
