Forum Thread: Major Title PCB Repair

Symptom: error message: RAM NG 000000000010 - Game runs but the large words MAJOR TITLE are streaky and corrupted on the main attract screen (where the golfer first appears) along with the coloured bars behind the player options (stroke play and match play) in attract mode
Diagnosis: Pin 14 of the skinny 6116 at location IC63 wasn’t connected to pin 15 of the LS245 at location IC62 due to someone earlier replacing the LS245 and breaking the track
Cure: See diagnosis

Symptom: Main character’s sprite colours are very ‘dithered’
Cure: Bad 6116 ‘skinny’ RAM at location IC22 on lower board

Symptom: Game runs but the large words MAJOR TITLE are missing (sometimes the odd bit appears towards the top of the display) on the main attract screen (where the golfer first appears) along with the coloured bars behind the player options (stroke play and match play) in attract mode
Cure: Found that pin 24 of the surface mount custom at IC64 wasn’t connected to ground
