Board dead no activity from any chip on the board. No Clock either.
Found a bad Z80-A CPU and 2 dead 74ls74s on the bottom board IC88 and IC75. The ICs were Fairchild. There are no other Fairchild chips ob the board other than the bottom cpu board I'm betting they are the problem.(and I was right)
Instead of a dead black screen now I get a blue screen. I decided to try putting it in test mode and got. The board is now alive and is pulsing normally. RAM CHECK MODE NO RAM ERROR.
Just found out this is normal lol but its a good sign.
Found another bad 74ls74 IC89 with dead outputs. Board now fires up and is running .
Sound.
Missing music and other sound effects im not sure which. Credit noise is there and when Tarzan jumps from tree to tree and splat noise when he hits the ground.
There are 2 out of the 4 bad AY-3-8910...no suprises there.
IC 50 credit sound.Jump sound IC 63 music IC 51 splat noise-rope swing IC 49 ????
The Tarzan call is working.
Coin input was not working on coin 1 then coin 2 later died. Long story short seems they are both connected to 2 large transistors that would appear to be dead which in turn is connected to a 74ls08 IC28. Cutting the pins which lead to the Transistors fixed the coin problems. These pins should be at a high state but were stuck low. Pin 3,4,9 and 10 were removed. Bit of a bodgy fix but I have no idea why the circut was made that way. The credit will not come up until after you take you finger off the coin button on the test rig this is how it should be.
Summary. 1 bad CPU, 3 bad 74ls74s and 2 bad AY-3-8910's
